We met in the Relief Society room to learn about personalizing our 72 hour kits and storage in small spaces.
Patty Donohoe shared an experience she had in a 'Nor Easter while living on Cape Cod. Our 72 hour kits or go bags should include the basic necessities to get us though a catastrophic event until additional help arrives.
Jolene Parker from the Sun River 1st Ward demonstrates what emergency items she carries with her everywhere she goes.
How did she get all of that in one purse?

Below is what is included in each kit.
The centerpieces were provided by the activities committee members. So many great ideas of items to be included in our go bags.
A lunch including taco salad, strawberry and watermelon skewers, and brownies was served.
Here is the recipe for the Taco Salad provided by Susan Blower
1 pound hamburger, browned and drained- let cool
1 head of lettuce, chopped
2-3 tomatoes, diced
1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can sliced olives (optional)
2 cups shredded cheese
1 bag Doritos chips- crushed
1 bottle or can of green sauce
Sauce- 1 cup mayo, 1 cup sour cream
Mix mayo, sour cream, and green sauce- set aside
Mix hamburger, tomatoes, kidney beans, olives, and cheese.
Add sauce and chips and lettuce before serving.
Makes a large salad.
