March Birthday Celebration 2024

March Birthday Celebration

We were challenged by our prophet to read the Book of Mormon underlining all references to Jesus Christ and to complete 1000 temple ordinances by March 12, 2024.

1794+ ordinances completed!

Theresa Nelson shared what she learned as she read the Book of Mormon each day.

Pauline Clyde talked to us about her experiences in the temple.

Norma Mann liked Elvis Presley but her Mom was her greatest influence.  She met her spouse in high school.  After 4 months of marriage he was drafted into the Army.  Norma loves to sew, crochet, write in her journals, and work in the yard.  Three important things she has learned are: don't sweat the small stuff, a clean house is not the most important thing although a made up bed is still important, and lastly make sure your children know how much you love them for who they are.

Lori Thain met her husband through a fellow Primary worker.  They each had 3 boys that they raised together.  She loves to study the gospel.  She and Paul traveled, served, 4 wheeled, did genealogy, and entertained in their home.  If Lori could go back to any age it would be 43.  Re-feeling those feelings when she met and got to know Paul.  Her perfect days are when she has had undeniable spiritual experiences.  Lori's goals are to attend the temple, be the best she can be each day, and endure to the end.

One of Jeannie Lee's idols growing up was Roy Rogers but her greatest influence was her Mother.  She met her husband while attending West High School. Shortly after they were married he was drafted into the Army.  Jeanne loves geology and rocks.  Life's lessons have helped her gain her testimony.  The 3 most important lessons she has learned are to pray, be patient, and to share.  Her best advice is 'don't fall'.

Kara Lee McAllister met her husband while working.  He came from a divorced family as she did.  Together they decided to make their marriage work no matter what.  She loves quilting, sewing, cooking, and golf.  Three lessons she has learned are to stay busy, to love everyone,  and to love God.  Her goal is to continue to help her daughter with her quilting and fabric business.

Phyllis Smith's grandfather was one of her greatest influences.  They were very close.  She met her husband in high school.  She gained her testimony by attending church with her grandfather, studying the scriptures, praying often, teaching Primary, and serving in Relief Society.  Phyllis enjoys knitting, sewing, and reading.  Her goals are to stay healthy and close to her family.  The three most important lessons learned are: avoid paying interest on purchases, your religion is a major part of your life, and make exercise a part of your daily life.  Her advice is to maintain contact with your family, eat healthy, and walk everyday.

As a girl, Lois Rawlinson loved Elvis Presley but her greatest influences were her parents.  She came home from her mission to England on the Queen Elizabeth.  Her parents met her at Ellis Island in New York.  They traveled across the US to see the Worlds Fair in Seattle.  Her hobbies are knitting and crocheting.  She also enjoys making history books of family and ancestors.  The three most important lessons she learned are: love children even though they make different choices than they were taught, discipline in love, not anger, and honor thy Father and Mother.  Her best advice is to be positive, appreciate your many blessings and what the Lord has done for you.

Carilee Weight attended the University of Utah where she met her husband.  They were married 4 days after she graduated.  Her husband was her greatest influence.  She is an avid journal writer and enjoys sewing.  Her goals are to spend more time in the temple, write more, putting all her thoughts on paper, and leave her family with her testimony.  Her advice for us is to be kind, follow your heart, and enjoy life.
